Who's behind the tour

Buggy companies in Lanzarote: the real operators and the sites that resell them

Behind almost every buggy company in Lanzarote there are just four operators: H2O Sports, Aventura Lanzabuggy, Buggies Lanzarote and Paracraft, plus the quads in Playa Blanca. Everyone else resells the same tours, nearly always at the same price: from €150 per two-seater buggy.

  • from€150per buggy (up to 2 people)
  • Per person≈ €75with 2 on board
  • Duration2.5 hguided
  • Rating★ 4.65,581 reviews
  • Prices are per buggy, not per person
  • Every tour is guided
  • Free cancellation up to 24 h before on most

Search for "Lanzarote buggy" and you get twenty websites, each with its own logo. It looks like twenty companies, but the convoy waiting for you at the start is almost always run by one of four: H2O Sports, Aventura Lanzabuggy, Buggies Lanzarote or Paracraft. The rest are booking platforms or agencies taking a commission for selling you the same tour.

Knowing who actually runs it helps in three ways: you can compare real prices, you know where the tour starts, and you know who to ring if something goes wrong on the day.

Which buggy companies actually operate in Lanzarote?

These are the companies that supply the vehicles, the guides and the insurance. Prices are per vehicle, not per person.

A word about this website's name: there is no company called "Lanzarote Buggy" in Playa Blanca. We are an independent guide, not an operator. And no buggy tour starts in Playa Blanca: operators pick customers up there, but what does leave from Playa Blanca is the guided quad tours.

Another thing that catches people out: Aventura Lanzabuggy's registered office is in Playa Honda, but its tours leave from km 17 on the LZ-2 in Yaiza. We explain it on the Lanzabuggy and Playa Honda page.

Which buggy company should you pick for where you're staying?

The company matters less than the route and the starting point:

  • The north and Peñas del Chache (about 670 m, the island's highest point): H2O from Costa Teguise. It's the most-reviewed tour on the island, see dates for the Costa Teguise off-road tour.
  • The centre, La Geria and views of Timanfaya: Buggies Lanzarote from Puerto Calero or Lanzabuggy from Yaiza. Both use similar tracks around Tías, Masdache and La Asomada, but they are separate companies: 3-hour tour from Puerto Calero or Lanzabuggy's Can-Am Trail.
  • A family of four: H2O has off-road 4- and 6-seaters; Lanzabuggy has a tarmac-only 4-seater at €160, about €40 each with four on board.
  • Buggy and sea on the same day: Paracraft in Puerto del Carmen combines a buggy with jet ski and parasailing in its Pack Duo.
  • Trike or Slingshot: only Lanzabuggy on GetYourGuide, with a driver aged 21 or over.

None of these tours drives a buggy into Timanfaya National Park: they cross it on the LZ-67 road or look at it from outside. And none of them drives on beaches or dunes, because that is banned in Lanzarote.

Local agencies such as OK Lanzarote or Canco also resell buggies and quads, under a travel intermediary licence. They don't name the operator in their listings.

Booking direct or on GetYourGuide: which is cheaper?

The general rule surprises people: the price is usually the same. H2O charges €150 for the two-seater off-road tour on its own website and on GetYourGuide; Lanzabuggy charges €170 for the Can-Am Trail in both places. There are a few exceptions worth knowing:

  • Buggies Lanzarote is cheaper direct: €160 for the 3-hour tour, minus €10 if you book online on its website, against €170 on GetYourGuide.
  • Paracraft is 3 % cheaper direct, but its website doesn't allow cancellations (only a date change with 24 hours' notice). On GetYourGuide you can cancel free up to 24 hours before.
  • Options you can only book direct: Lanzabuggy's 2-hour Trail at €130 and its 2-hour Family Mix at €190; H2O's 6-seater buggy at €270 (2 h) or €340 (3 h); and self-drive hire of a three-wheel Can-Am Ryker, €150 for 24 hours.

What no operator can promise you right now

On 2 October 2026 the Cabildo (the island council) opened a one-month public consultation on an island-wide bylaw that could restrict or ban buggies and quads on dirt tracks and rural land. Nothing is banned yet and the tours are running. But routes could move onto tarmac: when you book, check how much of the route is on tracks.

Nobody publishes a security deposit or a damage excess either. H2O says insurance is included; the others give no figures. If it worries you, ask before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

How many buggy companies are there in Lanzarote?

Four run the tours with their own vehicles and guides: H2O Sports, Aventura Lanzabuggy, Buggies Lanzarote and Paracraft, plus the guided quads in Playa Blanca. The other websites resell those same tours.

Is it cheaper to book a buggy tour direct with the company?

With H2O and Lanzabuggy the price is the same on their website and on GetYourGuide. Buggies Lanzarote is about €20 cheaper direct and Paracraft 3 % cheaper, although Paracraft doesn't let you cancel.

Is there a company called "Lanzarote Buggy" in Playa Blanca?

No. There is no operator with that name and no buggy tour that starts in Playa Blanca. You can be picked up there for the buggies, or take a quad tour.

Can you hire a buggy without a guide in Lanzarote?

We found no self-drive buggy or quad hire. The only thing without a guide is H2O's three-wheel Can-Am Ryker, €150 for 24 hours.

Which company has the 6-seater buggy?

H2O Sports, from Costa Teguise: €270 for 2 hours and €340 for 3 hours, per vehicle. On GetYourGuide it appears within the 4- or 6-seater tour.
