Buggy tour reviews in Lanzarote: what GetYourGuide and Tripadvisor say

Buggy Lanzarote reviews are good overall: almost every tour sits around 4.5–4.8 out of 5. H2O's off-road tour from Costa Teguise has more than 5,500 on GetYourGuide. The same complaints keep coming up: dust, more tarmac than expected and the cold up high.

If almost every tour has between 4.5 and 4.8 stars, the average tells you very little. What matters is how many reviews sit behind it, for which product and from when, and what keeps coming up in the criticism. Here we bring together what GetYourGuide, Tripadvisor and other platforms show for each operator, with rounded figures because they change every day.

Buggy Lanzarote reviews: ratings by tour

Volume is what counts most. H2O's off-road tour is the buggy tour with the most reviews on the island on GetYourGuide, and holding a 4.6 across more than 5,500 reviews is harder than a 4.8 across 140. Its €150 is per two-seat buggy: about €75 per person if there are two of you.

What the reviews say about each operator

H2O Sports (Costa Teguise and Puerto del Carmen)

The Google reviews H2O shows on its website (4.6 from nearly 1,400 reviews, picked by the company itself) praise the guides, the feeling of safety and the views from the top. The most specific criticism comes from a customer who gave 4 stars because they expected more dirt track on a route that was mostly tarmac. On Tripadvisor (going by search results, because the page blocks direct reading) it has 4.8 from about 1,100 reviews, and at least one review of the 2-hour tour complains that nobody turned up for the pickup. More in our H2O Sports review.

Lanzabuggy (Yaiza)

On GetYourGuide it has over 800 reviews across its five tours, all between 4.5 and 4.8. On Tripadvisor it has 4.7 from about 770 reviews (going by search results), and three themes stand out: roughly 25 % track and 75 % road, a lot of dust and some rather worn buggies. The Can-Am Trail is its most-reviewed tour; the rest is in our Lanzabuggy review.

Buggies Lanzarote (Puerto Calero)

This is the company that comes up when you search "buggies lanzarote tripadvisor". There it has 4.7 from more than 1,200 reviews (going by search results). Reviewers praise the guides, the fun of the tracks and the scenery; the criticism mentions dust, the cold up high and, in older reviews, badly maintained manual buggies. The company now says it runs automatic Can-Am Mavericks, so those complaints describe a different fleet. On Viator the same 3-hour tour has more than 800 reviews at 4.6, and on GetYourGuide the listing that matches its route has about 140 at 4.8. You can check dates for the tour from Puerto Calero or read our Buggies Lanzarote review.

Paracraft (Puerto del Carmen)

Its buggy tours score 4.6 on GetYourGuide (about 160 reviews for the buggy and more than 200 for the jet ski pack). We have not been able to read its Tripadvisor page and have found no reliable recurring complaints, so we are not making any up.

Buggies Lanzarote on Tripadvisor and other platforms

The same company's figures vary a lot from one platform to another:

OperatorGetYourGuideTripadvisor (from search)Viator
H2O Sports4.6 from over 5,500 (main tour)4.8 from about 1,1004.6 from over 200 (2 h tour)
Lanzabuggy4.5–4.8, over 800 in total4.7 from about 770no tours in its buggy category
Buggies Lanzarote4.8 from about 1404.7 from over 1,2004.6 from over 800

On Civitatis, the Guatiza–Mala route from Costa Teguise scores 9.3 out of 10 from about 170 reviews on its Spanish site (according to the Civitatis listing).

Why the numbers don't match between platforms

Tripadvisor groups all of a company's activities together (H2O appears there as a water sports company in Puerto del Carmen), while GetYourGuide and Viator rate each product. On top of that, on GetYourGuide only people who booked the tour through it can leave a review; Tripadvisor reviews do not require a verified purchase.

How to read buggy tour reviews

  • Check the date. A review from a few months ago on H2O's website says they did the 2-hour route for €130 for the two of them; today it costs €150 per buggy. Prices, routes and vehicles change.
  • Check the vehicle. The complaints about manual buggies at Buggies Lanzarote predate its current automatic fleet. At Lanzabuggy, a Maverick turbo and a Trail are nothing alike.
  • Check the product. A review of the on-road tour from Puerto del Carmen tells you nothing about the off-road tour from Costa Teguise, even from the same company. GetYourGuide even labels H2O's off-road tour "Playa Blanca", although it leaves from Costa Teguise.
  • Off-road today, maybe tarmac tomorrow. On 2 October 2026 the Cabildo (island council) opened a public consultation on a by-law that could restrict or ban buggies on dirt tracks. Reviews praising the off-road sections may not describe your route: check when you book.
  • Be wary of stars on a company's own website. The ratings an operator or reseller displays are chosen by them. TravelON (excursionslanzarote.com) shows ratings of 4.7 to 5 on its website but has 2.2 on Trustpilot from fewer than 30 reviews.
  • Round in your head. On the same day, H2O's main tour showed 5,581 reviews in one listing and 5,559 in another. The difference between a 4.6 and a 4.7 decides nothing.

To compare tours on more than stars, use the buggy tour comparison or read up on what to expect on the tour.
