Buggies Lanzarote reviews: prices and what to expect from the Puerto Calero buggy

Buggies Lanzarote is the buggy company at Puerto Calero marina: automatic two-seater Can-Ams on a 2 h route (€130 per buggy) or a 3 h one (€160) with a stop at a La Geria winery. Reviews are strong; the drawbacks are dust, cold on higher ground and details it doesn't publish.

Operator website ↗

Buggies Lanzarote opened in 2015 in the Galería Náutica (unit 1B) at Puerto Calero marina, in the municipality of Yaiza. It sells buggy tours and a jet ski combo. It's the name that comes up when people search for "Puerto Calero buggies". This review is based on its website (checked on 6 October 2026) and its reviews; we don't work for the company.

Quick verdict

Good for:

  • Couples or friends staying in Puerto del Carmen or Puerto Calero who want a two-seater buggy without a long transfer.
  • Anyone who wants the centre of the island and La Geria with a winery break, rather than the northern route from Costa Teguise.
  • Anyone with a fixed date who can book direct: it's €20 cheaper than on GetYourGuide.

Not for:

  • Families of three or four: there are no four-seater buggies. See 4- and 6-seater buggies.
  • Anyone without a car who needs hotel pick-up from Playa Blanca or Costa Teguise: the company doesn't offer it on its website.
  • Young drivers or those who've only recently passed their test: they ask for 2 years' driving experience.

What Buggies Lanzarote offers

Land & Sea (jet ski + buggy)3 h€269 for 2 peoplenot listed

Every page of its website advertises €10 off for booking online, so the 3 h route comes down to €150 per buggy (€75 per person if two share) and the 2 h route to €120. The Volcano Run tours leave daily. Land & Sea used to run on set days of the week; confirm the schedule before you plan around it.

On GetYourGuide, the 3-hour buggy tour with views of the volcano park doesn't show the supplier's name in the data we could check. The 3 h route, the price and the Puerto Calero departure all fit this company's tour, but check the "Activity provider" on the listing.

Route, vehicles and requirements

Vehicles. The website describes new automatic two-seater Can-Am Maverick buggies. On Tripadvisor the company is listed as "1100cc Buggies", and the Land & Sea combo mentions an "1100cc buggy".

2-hour route. Tracks behind Puerto del Carmen, Tías, Güime, San Bartolomé, Masdache, Montaña Blanca, lava caves and a winery with a wine museum in La Geria. Back over La Asomada.

3-hour route. Along the coast to Playa Quemada, close to El Cuervo volcano, Mancha Blanca and down a track to La Santa, with views of La Graciosa. Then Soo and the La Geria winery with coffee and a small wine tasting.

Neither route drives on tracks inside Timanfaya National Park: you see it from outside. The exact split between tarmac and dirt isn't published. We compare every route on the island in our route map by base.

Published requirements:

  • Driving licence held for 2 years.
  • Closed shoes; no flip-flops.
  • Goggles included; dust scarves on sale at the office.

What it doesn't publish: minimum driver age, minimum passenger height, group size, guide languages and cancellation policy. Ask in writing before you pay, especially if you're bringing children (in two-seater buggies, passengers usually need to be at least 1.35 m tall).

Booking direct is €20 cheaper, and you also get the 2 h route, which GetYourGuide doesn't sell. GetYourGuide is worth it if your plans might change: you can cancel free of charge up to 24 h before.

On Viator, the 3 h Can-Am that thelanzaroteguide attributes to this company costs €170, the same as on GetYourGuide. More on booking channels in our GetYourGuide review.

What the reviews keep saying

According to Tripadvisor snippets, Buggies Lanzarote scores 4.7 out of 5 from more than 1,200 reviews; on GetYourGuide, 4.8 out of 5 from more than 140; and the 3 h product attributed to it on Viator has over 800 reviews at 4.6. It's one of the most-reviewed buggy operators on the island.

What people praise:

  • The guides.
  • The fun of the dirt tracks.
  • The scenery.

What people criticise:

  • Badly maintained manual buggies, in older reviews. The current fleet is advertised as new automatic Can-Ams; check the date of each review.
  • The dust.
  • The cold on higher ground.

More themes compared across operators in buggy tour reviews.

Weak points

  • No pick-up. You have to get to the marina yourself: 10 minutes' drive from Puerto del Carmen, about 30 from Costa Teguise.
  • Incomplete information. Minimum age, passenger height and cancellation terms aren't on the website.
  • Two seats only. A group of four needs two buggies and two drivers who've held a licence for 2 years.
  • Future of the tracks. On 2 October 2026 the Cabildo (island council) opened a one-month public consultation on a bylaw that could restrict or ban buggies on dirt tracks and rural land. There's no ban today, but routes could move onto tarmac. Confirm when you book.
  • Tasting and driving. The driver's limit is 0.5 g/l (0.3 g/l in the first two years of holding a licence).

How to book

  1. Direct: at buggieslanzarote.com, with the €10 online booking discount. The office is at Galería Náutica 1B, Puerto Calero marina.
  2. GetYourGuide: if you want free cancellation and to pay later, check dates for the 3-hour route.
  3. Before you pay, ask about the minimum age, passenger height and what happens if you cancel.

All the logistics for getting to the marina, with distances and buses, are on our Puerto Calero buggies page.
