There's no single answer to "the best buggy tour in Lanzarote": the best one for a couple in Costa Teguise isn't the best for a family of four in Puerto del Carmen. What you can do is put all thirteen products in the same table, with the price split per head and who runs each one, and rule things out quickly.

Prices are GetYourGuide "from" prices in euros, always per vehicle (or per group), never per person. The per-person column assumes the buggy is full.

Notes so the table holds no surprises:

  • Durations: GetYourGuide gives H2O's on-road tour 3 h; H2O itself says 2.5 h. Paracraft's Buggy Adventure is the other way round: 2 h on the listing and 2.5 h on its website.
  • Operator of the Puerto Calero tour: GetYourGuide doesn't show the supplier in our data. Going by the route and starting point, the listing belongs to Buggies Lanzarote, at the marina.
  • The southern quad: GetYourGuide files it under "RENT A QUAD"; we haven't been able to confirm which company runs it. It has just two reviews.
  • Terrain: there are tracks today, but on 2 October 2026 the Cabildo (island council) opened a consultation on a bylaw that could restrict them. Nothing is banned yet; check when you book how much of the route is on dirt.

What's the best buggy tour in Lanzarote for two?

For a couple, H2O's off-road tour from Costa Teguise is the benchmark: €150 per buggy, €75 each, and over 5,500 reviews at 4.6. It climbs via Guatiza and the Mala dam towards Peñas del Chache, at around 670 m. It's the cheapest of the two-seat buggies and has the longest track record. See dates for the Costa Teguise off-road tour.

If you're staying in the south or in Puerto del Carmen, the Puerto Calero tour (€170) runs along tracks in the centre of the island and stops at a La Geria winery; it has the best rating of the two-seaters, 4.8. Lanzabuggy's Can-Am Trail costs the same and, unlike the rest, takes drivers from 18 with a category B (car) licence. More in the Puerto Calero guide.

Best for families and groups of 3 to 6

This is where the 4-seaters win hands down on price per head:

  • Lanzabuggy 4-seat on-road: €160, €40 each. Timanfaya via the LZ-67, Los Hervideros and La Geria. Road only, so less dust.
  • H2O on-road from Puerto del Carmen: €180, €45 each, with a walk of about 1 km up to Volcán El Cuervo and a stop at Las Grietas.
  • H2O off-road 4 or 6 seats: €200 for four, the only one that combines dirt tracks with family seating; a 6-seat option exists (€270 for 2 h on H2O's website).
  • Trike for three: €150, €50 each. The listing sells it as the feel of a motorbike with the comfort of a car; helmet compulsory and driver aged 21 or over.

On the 2-seaters, passengers usually need to be 1.35 m tall; the 4-seaters take smaller children. See the 4-seat on-road buggy. There's more on the 4- and 6-seat buggies page.

For anyone after power or something different

Lanzabuggy's Maverick X3 Turbo, 173 hp with an automatic gearbox, is the most expensive tour on the island (€230 per buggy, €115 each) and the most powerful. It requires 21 and 2 years' licence. It makes sense if you've driven buggies before; for a first go, the same company's Can-Am Trail lasts as long and costs €60 less.

The Slingshot (€170) and the trike (€150) are for the road: no dirt, wind in your face. Both require a minimum age of 21. The trike has a manual gearbox.

Paracraft's packages combine buggy and sea from Playa Chica in Puerto del Carmen. The Duo (€200 for two) adds 20 minutes on a two-person jet ski; the Trio (€300) adds parasailing. Watch the age limit: Paracraft requires the buggy driver to be 22.

Off-road or on-road: what the routes actually involve

Lanzarote's "off-road" tours aren't on dirt the whole time. H2O's family buggy states roughly 50% track. According to review excerpts for Lanzabuggy on Tripadvisor, its routes are around 25% track and 75% road. And one review of H2O's north tour complained of expecting more trails.

No buggy goes into Timanfaya National Park: you cross it on the LZ-67, the public road. Nor are there legal routes on beaches or dunes. If the volcanic scenery matters more to you than mud, the on-road option saves you dust and money. We compare them in more detail in off-road in Lanzarote.

Requirements that rule options out

Before you fall for a tour, check the table against the driver's age:

How to decide in a minute

  1. Check which base you're leaving from, or who picks up from your hotel.
  2. Count heads: 2 → 2-seat buggy; 3 → trike or 4-seater; 4 or more → 4-seater (or 6 with H2O).
  3. Check the driver's age and licence.
  4. Decide dirt or tarmac, knowing that track routes may change.
  5. Compare the price per person, not per buggy. The price guide has the sums for 2, 3, 4 and 6 people.
