thelanzaroteguide.com reviewed: how good are its buggy tour write-ups?
thelanzaroteguide.com is a content site earning commission from GetYourGuide and Viator, with no named author. It has 18 buggy tour reviews, each covering a single product. It sells nothing itself: every booking ends up on GetYourGuide or Viator, at the same price you would pay there.

Search for buggy tours in Lanzarote and thelanzaroteguide.com will probably appear near the top. We do the same thing they do (we are a guide paid commission by a booking platform), so we judge it by the same yardstick we use for any other site: what information it gives, whether it is up to date and what you actually gain from reading it. We checked it on 6 October 2026.
Quick verdict: is thelanzaroteguide.com worth using?
Good for: a detailed second opinion on a specific tour you have already picked. It is also handy for products that are only on Viator, such as H2O Sports' 3-hour north route from Costa Teguise or the island tour by "Buggy Adventure Lanzarote".
Not good for: comparing operators, finding out who actually runs each tour, or seeing prices in euros. The site has no pages per company, never compares platform prices with booking direct, and shows dollar prices alongside review counts that no longer match the live figures.
What thelanzaroteguide.com is and who runs it
| Detail | What we found |
|---|---|
| Owner | Not disclosed. No "about us" page, no privacy policy and no affiliate disclosure (those URLs return a 404 error) |
| Age | Domain registered on 23 May 2026; the first buggy review went up the following day |
| Business model | Affiliate of GetYourGuide and Viator; the buttons read "Book on GetYourGuide" or "Book on Viator" |
| Buggy content | A "Buggy Tours" category with 18 reviews: 11 of GetYourGuide products and 7 of Viator products |
| Currency | US dollars |
Being anonymous does not make a site bad, but it does mean reading it with a bit more care: you do not know who wrote it or whether they have done the tour. The affiliate model itself is perfectly legitimate and is the same as ours; the difference is that they do not explain it anywhere. Ours is set out in how we are funded.
Which buggy tours it reviews
The 11 GetYourGuide write-ups cover almost everything on the island: H2O Sports' three tours (off-road from Costa Teguise, the 4/6-seater buggy and the on-road tour from Puerto del Carmen), three from Aventura Lanzabuggy (Can-Am Trail, Maverick and the 4-seater family tour), Buggies Lanzarote's 3-hour tour from Puerto Calero, two from Paracraft in Puerto del Carmen and the full-day safari in Corralejo, which is actually on Fuerteventura.
The 7 Viator reviews are mostly variations on H2O / Buggy Experience Lanzarote (2 and 3 hours, plus the mixed 4-seater), the Buggies Lanzarote Can-Am and the 3-hour Maverick tour by "Buggy Adventure Lanzarote".
Missing are the trikes (trike and Polaris Slingshot) and the quad in the south. For those, see our trike and Slingshot page and quad or buggy.
Dollar prices and out-of-date figures
This is its weakest point. The reviews show prices in dollars (the platforms' web shops can also show dollars even when you ask for euros) and the review counts are never updated.
An example: H2O's off-road tour from Costa Teguise. On thelanzaroteguide.com it shows 4.7 with about 4,400 reviews. In GetYourGuide's euro catalogue on 6 October 2026 it has 4.6 out of 5 from more than 5,500 reviews and costs from €150 per two-seater buggy, about €75 per person if there are two of you. Check dates for the Costa Teguise off-road tour.
If you are paying in euros, ignore the dollar figure: you will be charged the platform's euro price. Our buggy tour prices page lists every tour in euros with the per-person maths done for you.
What it does well
- Long single-product reviews. Each write-up focuses on one tour: what is included, what to expect, whether it is good value. If you have already decided, it is a useful read.
- It covers Viator. It is one of the few sites reviewing products that are not on GetYourGuide, such as H2O's 3-hour north route or the island tour by "Buggy Adventure Lanzarote".
- It names operators on Viator. Its Viator pages say who runs each tour; for example, that the 3-hour Can-Am with more than 800 Viator reviews is run by Buggies Lanzarote in Puerto Calero, not by Lanzabuggy.
Weak points
- No named author or company, and no visible affiliate disclosure.
- Dollar prices and old review counts, which are no use for comparing with what you will actually pay.
- No comparison with booking direct. For example, Buggies Lanzarote charges €170 on GetYourGuide and €160 on its own website (€150 with its online discount). You will not find that kind of detail there.
- No overview by operator or area. It does not tell you which tour starts near your hotel, the minimum driver age at each company (H2O 20, Lanzabuggy 21 except on the Trail, Paracraft 22) or that off-road routes may change.
- Nothing on the local context. On 2 October 2026 the Cabildo (island council) opened a month-long public consultation on a by-law that could restrict or ban buggies on dirt tracks and rural land. Nothing is banned yet, but routes could move onto tarmac; check when you book.
How to book if you found a tour on thelanzaroteguide.com
Whichever site sent you there, the platform price is the same. What does change is where you book and on what terms.
- Pick your tour by area, type of terrain and driver age. Our buggy tour comparison puts them side by side.
- On GetYourGuide, buggy tours have free cancellation up to 24 hours before; several let you reserve now and pay later. We explain it in GetYourGuide for buggy tours.
- If the product is only on Viator, read our Viator review. We are not Viator partners.
- If the operator sells for less on its own website, as Buggies Lanzarote does, consider booking direct. If you would rather use the platform, check dates for the Puerto Calero tour.
Frequently asked questions
Is thelanzaroteguide.com reliable?
It is a content site earning commission from GetYourGuide and Viator, set up in May 2026 with no named author. Its reviews are detailed, but prices are in dollars and review counts are not updated, so check everything on the platform before you pay.
Can you book on thelanzaroteguide.com?
No. The buttons take you to GetYourGuide or Viator, and the booking, payment and cancellation are handled by that platform and the tour operator.
Is it cheaper to book through thelanzaroteguide.com?
No. You pay the GetYourGuide or Viator price on the day. Some operators, such as Buggies Lanzarote in Puerto Calero, are cheaper if you book on their own website.
Why does thelanzaroteguide.com show prices in dollars?
GetYourGuide's web shop can show dollars even when you ask for euros, and that site publishes that figure. If you pay in euros, H2O's off-road tour costs from €150 per two-seater buggy.
Are thelanzaroteguide.com and lanzarotebuggy.tours the same site?
No. They are separate projects with a similar model. We earn commission only from GetYourGuide, show prices in euros and compare each tour with booking direct.
